im an avid DSLR user and i was filming something from far away and using the on camera mic but i wasnt that close so I turned the recording level up all the way. Worked great . This weekend I was filming interview holding the camera up in peoples faces. When i got home i realized i hadnt turned down the mic recording level. Now its not too loud , volume wise, but it has a lot of background noise picked up because we were on a new york city sidewalk. It basically sounds like when u have a speaker turned all the way up . but the volume isnt really high. It has a kind of screeching effect bc the record level is so high. Is there any plugins I can get or use any of the ones included to reduce this. I know its probably not fixable totally but it was once in a lifetime thing and i just want it to sound as clean as possible. thanks if anyone can help.

If you can post a short section of the file to a site such as Dropbox, we can try and see what we can do with it.
If you don’t have Dropbox, use the link below to get both of us an extra 500 MB. of free space.
