I am working on a long event recorded on a tm700. I have multiple avchd files weighing in at 3.99 gbs. I am trying to get then together in vegas 11 and I am loosing a few frames and some audio.

Using the program that came with the camera I am able to make a short clip that spans the “forbidden zone” but now they dont line up perfectly. It creates an echo effect on the audio.

Is there a way to turn off the limitations of frame rate so I can actually drop the smaller clips in correctly?

Is there any help out there?

Is there any easy way without the working around? I have even tried doing the command promt thing with no success.

If you used HD Writer to download the files from the TM700 and the files are no longer on the TM700 media card/storage, then use HD Writwer to write the files back to the camera. Now use Device Explorer in Sony Vegas Pro to download the files to a file system that supports larger than 4GB files. I tried this last year and it worked for my TM900 camera. I was able to get a 10GB file into SVP 12 and edit without any gaps.

No go. I did just succeed with a command prompt though!

I think it worked! It’s late and I am tired, but I copied the files and produced a big one and they contain the missing audio and video! Here is the text of my command prompt I found it on some other website after hours of scrolling webpages. It took me a while to figure it out.

The copied files bear the same name as the first file copied. I think I might make a video to show people how to do this. I ran into the same problem a few months ago after filming a play. I also read about the command prompt solution but I was intimidated. Finally I got too fed up to care and with a little help from some friends I figured it out.

(Change directories to external drive with footage. Beginning with “F:” is the location of the miscreant files)

    1 file(s) copied.

(After the “copy /b” are the names of the files with a “+” in between them. The “F:VarietyShowMerge” is the folder I created to put the new file in. It copied all three files into one! Named the new file 20130407_171307.m2ts which is the same as the first file I commanded it to copy!)

    1 file(s) copied.

(I did it again with the second half of the show!)

For some reason the forward slashes are not turning up on the post.

Anyway there are some missing forward slashes.

Using DOS’ binary copy command, as you have discovered, is one way to merge your files. It’s good to be reminded now and again that simple techniques still work.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 12 (x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

I took me a little while to figure it out, but man I am glad it works!
