  • Event Pan/Crop Video going behind black bars.

I am trying to make a face cam video but I am unable to move my second video into the top right corner because it keeps going behind the black bars.

The main video was recorded off an old game that had to be windowed so the resolution is 640×480. I started a new 1920×1080 project and imported the 640×480 video which obviously added black bars. Now if I try to use Event Pan/Crop to add my second video into the top right corner I can’t because it goes behind the black bars, is there any way in Event Pan/Crop (I know it can be done in “Track Motion” but I would really prefer to do it through Event Pan/Crop instead) to make the video go over the top of the black bars instead of under them without stretching the aspect ratio?

I also know that I could upscale my 640×480 video or just use a 640×480 project but I want to keep it the way it is.

    thanks in advance,

You have to right-click on the Pan/Crop window and select Match Output Aspect so that the crop matches the 16:9 aspect of your project. Then you can move the crop anywhere within the frame. Note this does not change the aspect of the Media, just the aspect of the Crop.
