Text wipe
Posted by Roger Bansemer on April 4, 2013 at 7:16 pmIs there a way to create text that slowly starts to appear on the left and then fades away as more letters begin to appear towards the right?
Almost like taking a spotlight to highlight the first part of the text and then moving to the right across the text so by the end of the text the first part of the word has disappeared and the end of the word is exposed then fades.Roger Bansemer

April 4, 2013 at 7:22 pmNot looking for a fade of the entire line of text.
Here’s the scenario.
Black background. A spotlight begins to highlight some white text and moves from left to right. As the spot moves, the text shows up only where the spotlight is panning it almost like looking at it with a flashlight.Roger Bansemer

April 4, 2013 at 7:29 pmYou’re not wanting a “Wipe”. It’s like a Prison Searchlight.

April 5, 2013 at 10:44 amHi Grazie,
Yes, After seeing this I see you must have done this at the track level as there is no way to apply an effect to text like you can with an event. Am I right?Roger Bansemer

April 5, 2013 at 10:58 amFirstly, is this the “look” you are after?
Secondly, nothing at Track Level. I’ve done it all at Event Level.
Cheers

April 5, 2013 at 11:17 amOK. Got it. You can do this with Legacy text but not with Sony Titles and Text. That text generator won’t allow for any of the regular presets.
