Smart render for MPEG2 does not work
Hi,
I have a problem with smart rendering in Vegas Movie Platinum V. 11.
I want to cut and join some mpeg files from my Sony HDD recorder and produce output without re-rendering.I create a new project, set its property to match the edited test.mpg file, (PAL 720×576 25fps interlaced, upper frame first, audio ac3 256kbits/s stereo, video mpeg2, video bitrate about 6Mbits/s.
Then I import the testing test.mpg file.Thereafter, without any editing, I do Render_As, check “match project setting”, choose Main Concept MPEG2, Program stream PAL, press customize template and change Field order to Upper field first and render (without setting anything else).
It re-renders the test.mpg, i.e. no smart rendering occurs. the result is test1.mpgI tried to adjust as close as possible output bitrate for audio and video to that in test.mpg, changed field order…, but no success.
I believe that params in Render As have the same frame size, fps, field order, … as that in test.mpg.Nevertheless, when I do exactly the same, but now I edit and rend the file test1.mpg, (i.e. the file previously created by Vegas), the command Render-As does smart render, as required and the out test2.mpg is produced very quickly.
Simply, my problem must be that the properties of test.mpg does not match close enough propertes in RenderAs template. Or, only some mperg2 file can be smart rendered by the Main Concept Mpeg2 template. Can you help my how to set the Custom Settings Main Concept MPEG-2 dialog to math test.mpg? Clearly the match is not only about frame size…. as stated in the Vegas’s Help. Is it somehow possible to release necessary math of the params?
Of course, I can send a sample test.mpg, if it is of any help, (or I can upload it somewhere on the web. I checked all params by test.mpg->Property info window and these match those in RenderAs template. The discrepancy must be somewhere deeper in the file….
Thanks for your help.
