Editing DVD in Vegas framerate issues?
I’m currently trying to edit DVD .vob files to make a video, but I’m running into a goofy issue with the framerate. The dvd runs at 720×480 29.97 FPS and I’ve created the project to match those settings exactly. When I drag a vob file into the timeline and hit play it runs just fine at the correct speed. However, since I’m making a music video I don’t want to use the sound from the DVD. But as soon as I mute or delete the audio file attached to the vob, the framerate goes crazy and the video plays faster than normal. I have no idea why this is happening.
Is there a work-around I can use to edit DVD footage in Vegas? I know back in the day on Premiere I used to use AVS and create low-quality .avi files of the DVD to use while I was editng, then replace the files with the high-quality AVS version when I was ready to export. Would something like this work better in Vegas?

You should not be editing a VOB file. You should use File | Import | DVD Camcorder Disc… and let Vegas Pro re-wrap it as an MPEG2 stream for you.

AVCHD:Dolby Digital AC3 (2 Channel),I try to many times to don lose quality after rendering with video vegas pro 12, I renderit on format Sony AVC/MVC (mp4,m2ts,avc)
AVCHD 1920 x 1080 60i – Bit rate 21.999,616,DO I am making right render? but i dont have chance to make the same frame like original, is this render like mine uncompress video file or I have to change, rendering format, and the last question, how do I render on HDV to prin on mini DV HD Tape, or wich way is to render Video on (video vegas pro 12) file with High Quality HD uncompressed,Thanks.

Yes, that would be the highest quality AVCHD render type for Vegas Pro 12.0.

Your video is AVCHD. This render format is AVCHD. So they are the same. Your video is not uncompressed.

Use the MainConcept MPEG-2 format with one of the HDV 1080-60i… templates or just use the Print To Tape option in Vegas Pro and it will use the proper format.

I just tried using the Import DVD Camcorder Disc function but received an error about halfway through. It said something along the lines of the disc being corrupt, but I know for a fact that disc is fine. Since it is a movie, would this be a problem with the copyright protection? If so is there a workaround for this? The only thing I can think of would be to rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter and then re-burn it to another disc without copyright protection and try it again.

Could be. Vegas Pro doesn’t work on copy protected discs and you don’t have the rights to create a derivative work from copyrighted materials.

Okay I’ll use the method I described since I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. And using copyrighted material never stopped me or anyone on youtube ^_-
