media in timeline
Posted by Ron Labbe on February 9, 2013 at 4:57 pmLots of media in bin. I’m bringing into timeline one by one, but how can I track what in and what’s not? I’ve seen other editors that indicate that media is in timeline or not. ?

Switch your media bin to the Details View and check the Use Count column. A zero means it hasn’t been used any any other value is the number of times it has been used for video and/or audio. So a single media file with both video and audio dropped onto the timeline will have a count of 2, one for the video and one for the audio.

February 9, 2013 at 7:07 pmThanks for that… certainly helpful, but it’s too bad I can’t see the thumbnails at the same time. I can put used ones into a separate bin, though.
Seems the forum on the Sony website is useless, I’ve had several questions ignored for weeks.

The problem that I find with the Sony forums is that there is no way to get a notification so you might answer someone’s question and they ask you another one but you never see it. It makes no sense to me why they don’t have this capability and it causes me to not post there much because I don’t have time to go back and look at old threads to see if someone asked another question.
We have a pretty active group of members here at the Creative COW that usually answer questions quickly and the fact they we get notified of posts allows us to respond more quickly.
