Huh . . .
I’ve gone back to the Win7 Autoplay and mopped-up my iPhone Media to a Win7 PC folder, and be done.
I got this from Dale Dietrich:

I really really can’t be futzing about with iTunes this much.
What would happen AFTER you disconnect your iPhone? You’d have to import a usable Win7 Folder anyway?
My opinion? Get your stuff into the pC and take your iPhone away. That’s what I am doing from now on. Also the Autoplay gives you the simple option to erase AFTER import. How novel is that!? Try and do that through iTunes?
No, I adore my iPhone, and the 158 apps I’ve got on it, makes my mobility around my World in London totally spiffing! But sometimes, just sometimes you’ve just gotta take the line of least resistance and be pragmatic.
