Image transitions in 3D… (AE CS4)
HELP!
I’m definitely still ‘learning’ with AE. I don’t know if I’m just not looking correctly, but I can’t find any transitions or plug-ins that allow you to make an image transition that use the 3D layer / Z axis…
To give you a better idea of what I’m trying to replicate, have a look at this:

Is there a way I can recreate this ‘shuffling’ transition? All help is very much appreciated.

Oh god it is as well… just the ‘jitter’ making it look like it actually ‘pops out’ …
thanks for the tip! I will now try and get past the shame of asking a card-wipe transition question…

It’s okay; a good filter, well used, can hide itself. That little extra flair can distract you.
It should be relatively easy to duplicate/emulate this effect. Just drive the z position with a gradient that matches speed with the transition.
