  transitions and titling not functioing

  I have Sony Vegas 10 studio platinum.
  When I try to drag a transition onto the timeline immediately I click and drag a red circle with a white diagonal stripe appears (rather like a no entry sign) and the transition cannot be dragged or put onto the timeline.
  Similarly I can construct a title , put it in position (can still see lettering) but it does not show when the video is played?
  Sony say they no longer support this software. Come on boys it has virtually everything your new 12 has except the dubiously titles cpu accelerator!!
