Cut a clip without crossfades?
Kind of a newb question, but whenever I split a track, it keeps adding in crossfades around the split — even on other tracks that I didn’t split! I don’t want it to do this. How do I turn it off?

For the Audio:-
Toolbar > Options > uncheck “Quickfade Audio Edits”

If you mean you are splitting tracks you don’t want to split, then it is because you pressed “S” without selecting the required track first. Without selecting a track, Vegas splits all tracks at the cursor. Audio and video of a combined track will be split unless to cancel grouping and select either the video or audio track.

If you are trying to split the track without first selecting it, then Vegas by default will split all tracks at the cursor.
If you want to split just the video or audio of a grouped event, select the ungroup button in the tool bar first, select the track, and split. Remember to turn off ungrouping when done.

Brent, Simply go to the toolbar and press Options,
and in the drop down list, you will see Automatic Crossfades,
press and disable it or “Ctrl+shift+X” for short.Steve Rhoden
