Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Rendering Issue (Low Memory)

  • Rendering Issue (Low Memory)

    Hi there

I’ve had a recurring issue with Sony Vegas 10.0.
When I try to render some footage, usually as WMV, but I have experimented with similar results, the render freezes and I receive a message telling me my memory is too low to complete the process.

I’m editing in HD, using footage from a Sony NEX-VG20 (software was provided with the camera)

Is there a common fix for this issue, and can it be implemented without having to start my edit from scratch?

This issue doesn’t happen all the time, and I’m worried there might be a problem with the particular footage I am currently shooting, is that possible?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Chris P

Do a search on this forum for “low memory” and “Stephen Mann” as he’s written about it extensively.

    Hi Mike

Thanks for your response, I started looking through the search options just after posting this and I’ve already seen a few tricks I haven’t tried yet.

It seems to be a pretty consistent problem – I hope Sony Vegas are working on fixing it. It’s a pain in the ass.

This problem has occurred before, but I’ve always managed to find a fix – but for this particular project – I just cant seem to find a way around it which is making me think it has more to do with my footage than with my PC or Vegas Software.

I’ll try out a few suggestions from the earlier posts and get back to you all if my issues persist.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
