  • In DVDA adding second audio track makes the project 2 times larger?

    Hi!
I know it’s Vegas forum but after searching I could see that DVDA questions are more often asked here. And Authoring forum is almost dead so I just post here.

I want to do a simple thing. In DVDA add another audio track of the same video to my dvd project. It’s a translated audio track of the same lenght, but when I add another track, it doubles the size of the dvd and under optimization I can see that adding an AC3 automatically added the same video for the second time. Why is that happening?

I tried all the ways to avoid it but no use. One thing I notice though. The track I want to add the audio is made into different chapters. There is 3 buttons to play the video: all of it, first part and second part. All of them ending in the main menu. There is also another separate video track of the intro. If I add the audio meant for the video to the intro, although it’s not meant for it, then it adds the proper size to the dvd, like 200 mb extra for the ac3 file. But adding it to the needed track screws it up, dvd size becomes 6,8 bg. In fact, just by pressing the button ‘insert audio track’ makes the size like that. What’s happening?

    Regards,
    Jaanus

How did you add the second audio track? Did you right-click on the timeline header area and insert a new audio track? Or, did you drag a file to a menu page?

The correct way is to add a second audio track and create a button that switches between the two, (or three or whatever.)

    Hi!

Actually I added the tracks properly, but I figured it out, the culprit is DVDA, showing incorrect values. When I added the required track to all places needed, it started to again show proper values. Anyway, at least it works!

    Thanks for trying though.
