I’m thinking about doing a partial green screen in a shot and am wondering if anyone has done this before. What I want to do is have the talent talking to the camera with his arms/hands down. Then an upside-down piano keyboard (static image) appears to insinuate between his hands and legs (up to his waist). Then the talent would play, etc.

I was thinking about doing this by having the talent deliver his lines, then keep standing in the same position as we raise a green screen backdrop between his arms and body. The image would have a transparency on top showing though the talent’s body with the keyboard below.

Does this seem workable? Any other ideas?

It’s always possible my friend. Don’t complicate yourself, you can always hire an editor or depend on a green screen studio to assist you in your endeavors. it’s always possible, it’s just that, not all things can be done in handy dandy methods…you need a professional for that.
