I have to render a 30 second commercial for TV station. They accept only certain codec type. How to render this in Vegas 11? The specs are below:

    XDCAM HD „.mov” with audio
    ·         codec: MPEG2 (50Mb/s), 4:2:2
    ·         25 fps
    ·         1920(H) x 1080(V) pixeli
    ·         interlace. (PAL HD 1080i).
    ·         audio: 48 kHz,
    ·         audio: 16 bit.

Where do I find XDCAM codec? There is no XDCAM codec listed in quicktime settings.

    thanks

    Hi,
not quite sure I understand their requirements. The closest I could come up with is:
Render as: Sony MXF Format (*.mxf)
pick the HD422 1920×1080-50i 50Mbps template. Hit the Custom button until the settings are to your liking. You will have to adjust the Audio to 16 bits (seems to be 24 by default).

Mxf format is what you usually associate with XDCAM.

Are they asking you to deliver as quicktime?

Yes, they want it in quicktime mov container

    Hi,
it seems this is requirement that is not well served.

How did you get your content? was it XDCAM originally or are you delivering some generate content ? (e.g. animation)
Sony has software to wrap this (XDCAM XFER) but it is Mac based.
The only option I can think of is this: https://code.google.com/p/ffmbc/

That’s very odd. I’ve never heard of someone requesting Sony’s XDCAM in an Apple Quicktime wrapper. I’ve had studios ask me for XDCAM files and they just mean the normal mpeg2 HD (usually 1080i) files that an actual XDCAM camera would generate. When in doubt I always try to bypass the client and speak directly to the person on the other end who needs the footage to find out exactly what’s best.

We shoot on XDCAM EX camera’s and I always import MXF’s into Vegas, but I wouldn’t just give another company mxf files because last time I checked Premiere didn’t handle them very fast and Final Cut Pro didn’t like them at all.

I don’t have any files to test it at the moment but give XDCAM EX Clip Browser v2.60 a try (it’s free) as it might export it in the desired format.

I will try it out Mike. Actually I sent the video files in DNxHD codec to postproduction company and they converted them to XDCAM HD (mov). But it would be good to learn the trick for future.

Grzegorz, I’m glad you found a solution as I tried it at work today and didn’t have any luck.
It works with original camera footage but not with a completed video.
