  Can images in same track have different Track Motion coordinates?

  Hello,

  I have several images on the same Video Overlay track –is it possible to assign different Track Motion coordinates to each image? Right now, all 10 images have the same size/position as reflected in that track’s Track Motion window…Do I need to place each individual image in a different track row to accomplish this?

  Yes, Track Motion affects the entire track so if you want the images to have different motion, you need to use different tracks.

  Using keyframes is a consideration. Be advised that it is extra work though.

  Thank you Mike. Is there no other way to manipulate an image (eg, change its size, change its location/placement onscreen, etc)?

  Matt, you can try using Pan/Crop to see if this tool gives you the flexibility you want/need.
  It has the added benefit of being applied to an individual event instead of the entire track.

  Thanks Mike. It doesn’t appear to accomplish the same types of edits I was looking to do, but perhaps I don’t know the tool well enough. Need to work with it more.

  …and why are you afraid to use multiple tracks? This is why the tracks are unlimited in Vegas. You should use as many as it takes to accomplish what you want.

  Mike, I think that’s just what I’ll do. Didn’t realize that number of tracks was unlimited.

  I’m just using a series of images that have different sizes and positions—but don’t all appear at the same time in the video.

  Being a novice, at first it intuitively seemed that using a separate track for each image was metaphorically like using a different computer for each software application that I own….but I guess it’s not a problem—and that’s what I’ll do.

  You mentioned “Video Overlay” track in your first post which leads me to believe that you’re suing Movie Studio and not Vegas Pro.
  Vegas Pro does have unlimited audio and video tracks but Movie Studio is limited to 10 of each (20 in the latest release).
