  Emanating waves

  Hello all,

  I have greenscreen footage that I want to use as a base for radio waves. In other words, I want to use the image contours and have multiple radio waves emanating from the characters outward.

  I tried using Radio waves, but unfortunately the waves only come from a point source.

  Is there a way to do this?

  I may have misunderstood the problem but you can have the waves generated from Masks or Image Contours.

  

  Under Wave Type select image contours. You may want to auto trace and use the masks instead.

  Ya, the problem is that in the radio waves plugin, the waves emanate from a single point, as opposed to emanating from the full size shape. I basically want radio waves to emanate from the characters, I have provided a still version of what I am trying to achieve.

  

  I could settle for one color as far as the rings go, but they need to originate from the exterior of the characters.

  Yup, the characters are moving. I was hoping there was an easy way of doing it

  I figured out an easy way to do it- just precomp the movie with
  Then apply Auto trace for a set amount of frames, and apply stroke effect to the shape layer that was created.
