So… I just got my new PC a few days ago and its running on Windows 7. I really like video editing and I have after effects but since I don’t have a lot of money I was stuck with sony vegas 8. When I switched PC’s after effects was fine but I really couldn’t find a way to get Sony Vegas 8 off my old computer, I wanted to look at upgrading anyways… I downloaded the Vegas Pro 11 Trial and so far I really like it 😀 Unfortunatly whenever I do “File > Render As…” A small dialog box pops up saying:

“An error occurred while creating the media file .”
    “Exception thrown by callback”

I see videos explaining how to fix this but all involve changing the render settings which I can’t even do because it pops up as soon as you do “Render As…”

I’ve tried doing this with everything, a simple solid, some text from sonyvegas, etc…
Defiantly want to fix this before I get Sony Vegas 11

Please help, this is very annoying…

    [EDIT]

I found a video showing the issue:

And yes, before you ask, I did try uninstalling it and re-installing it 😛

    [EDIT #2]
I downloaded the trail for 10 and it seems to work fine… but if anyone has any suggestions on a video editing software that is like Sony Vegas, just as good but cheaper please tell me 😉

Have to tried to Disable the GPU acceleration option in the preferences before you start loading the time line.

I tried doing what you recommended but it didn’t fix the problem… Thanks for the suggestion though 🙂

I downloaded the trial for Vegas 10 and it works fine. I think I could settle for 10, I really didn’t even have a problem with 8. I just needed something better for putting the clips together and stuff.

Is your PC a Home brew or Manufacture. What are the specs.

I also only use SVP 10e. I have looked at 11 but there have been so many reported issues I did not continue with it. John

Hello Robert. The specs look fine and as far as SVP 11 is concerened, unless there is a specific feature that you need that is not in SVP 10 then there is no need to get get that version.

    Stick to 10e,,,,John
