Activity Forums VEGAS Pro no preview with capture

I’m direct to disk capturing HDV camera to laptop to disk. Everything is fine except all I get is a blue screen during capture, no video. At the end of the capture, the file is there, but I would like to see the preview. I don’t know why, I just do. Same on Vegas 10 and 11, so I’m wondering if there is a switch that needs to be thrown, or is it time to say goodbye to the camera.
    thanks.

I have seen this with my Sony HC3 tape camera.

I think your Dynamic RAM preview under Preferences > Video needs to be set to something like 200 MB.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

    Solved!
Big thanks. It was actually a crashed plug-in, but I didn’t find that until I opened preferences to change the ram, which was set at 200 and I was unable to change the value or close the preferences window. Hmmm. Then I noticed the error tab…

I installed the new version of the plugin, Vegasaur, problem solved.
