favourite tool for catchy intros (not After Effects)?

I have used AE to create some intros but as you know, if you don’t use AE regularly, it’s quite time consuming.

Are there other tools to make sexy/professional intros in Vegas? with native tools? with 3rd party? I’m not looking for simple lettering zooming in/out from a panning background.

how do you folks in this community do it?… curious.

The expensive way is using the plugins from Boris FX: Boris RED, FX, Graffity or BCC8.

The cheap way is using templates and adjust them to your needs:

I don’t know about “sexy or professional”, but I have one little trick that has come in quite handy. I use a font editor to make a new character in a font file. Say my logo is like the “t” for twitter or a chat box figure. I just put that in a font and then I can use all the text tools to animate it and do whatever. In a very short time I can get a flat png file to do quite a bit.

I use Font creator from https://www.high-logic.com. It’s the only one I know that allows you to paste bitmap graphics and then resize them to fit the character space. Try out a few of the demos, I bought mine years ago and have not bothered to update it.

Jeff,
just checked out the site.
I’m assuming this approach is limited to simple graphics as the graphic is created in a pixel grid limited in size. Not a full blown image correct?
