    What’s the best format to render to in Sony Vegas Pro 11 when the resulting footage needs to be brought into Final Cut Pro X? The project in this case is SD NTSC. Thanks!

    Get the Avid DNxHD codecs for both machines – they are free.

    Thank you for your help, Jeff. I installed it but I don’t see it added to FCPX’s Export format selections. I found a post about getting Vegas to see it but nothing about getting FCPX to see it. Any suggestions?

    You can’t export to Avid from inside FCP. You need to use Compressor. Does the codec appear in the older version of Compressor? Export a movie in ProRes. Take it to Compressor. Encode into DNxHD.

    I hope this is not true. How lame can FCPX be not to support other codecs?

    Everything I’ve heard about it I don’t like!
