I’m running Vegas 11 on a Win 7 64-bit i7 system; 12G of RAM. I have a GeForce 9400 and I installed the latest driver that Microsoft automatically installed. I tried a comparison render to see how much improvement I’d see using GPU support. With the GPU it took 20 minutes to render a 2-minute clip to WMV, but the clip had many drop-outs and wasn’t usable. I turned off GPU support and the render took 9 minutes and was perfect. Needless to say I’m surprised that using the GPU actually worsened performance and results. I could try the latest nVidia driver and see if that improves things, but frankly I’m frighted now. Suggestions?

    NVIDIA
Requires a CUDA-enabled GPU and driver 270.xx or later. GeForce GPUs:
GeForce GTX 4xx Series or higher (or GeForce GT 2xx Series or higher with driver 285.62 or later).
Quadro GPUs: Quadro 600 or higher (or Quadro FX 1700 or higher with driver 285.62 or later).

No, it wont improve things that much. For several reasons at
the moment, i would suggest you continue working with the GPU off
    in your case.

    Thanks Mikhail and Steve.

According to Sony, upgrading to GeForce 570 might be able to give me a big boost, but my target formats are usually WMV or M2T in preparation for making an SD DVD, and Sony doesn’t offer benchmarks for those formats. I’d be happy with cutting my times in half; any chance?

Do you happen to know if DVD Architect benefits from GPU acceleration?
