    Hi there.
Just switched from Sony Vegas 8 to Sony Vegas 11 (latest build, x64) and I have a question..

Notice how in the event/pan crop window you can see the original pixels of the picture, however in the preview window/final render the pixels are smoothed out..

Now, in Sony Vegas 8, setting the quality to Draft fixed this little issue, and the pixels would display correctly (in their “raw” format), but in Sony Vegas 11, as you can see, setting the qualty to Draft does not have the same effect. Do any of you guys know how to fix this?

PS: Yes, I know I’m dealing with very low resolutions (384×239) put into bigger projects (1280×720), but it worked well in Pro 8, so why wouldn’t it work in 11?

You are viewing in draft mode (on the output window). Try switching to good or best in the dropdown box.

Sadly, doing that will only smooth out the pixels further.
Isn’t there any way I can turn off the smooth out/anti-aliasing feature?

Try zooming out. From your picture it looks like your zoomed in about 10x.
You may need a higher resolution picture to get the frame you want.

You graphic looks like a good candidate for conversion to vector graphics, which would allow you to stretch it bigger than it is, and then re-rasterize it for use in Vegas.

Look around the net for free utilities (of trials) to get this done.
You can get 2 free conversions at https://vectormagic.com , I don’t know if they need a credit card, be careful of that.
Also check out AutoTrace at https://autotrace.sourceforge.net , looks like I might get this one.

Hmm.. Well, then, why could I do this perfectly in Sony Vegas 8? What’s so difficult about it now?

Oh well.. thanks for the help anyways. 😉

Hey, it’s me again.. I’ve been searching around everywhere, and it seems like there is no other solution to this problem other than to downgrade to Sony Vegas 8.

You see, I don’t want the pixels to merge into eachother like they do here, I want to be able to zoom in as far as I want without the pixels getting all blurred out. Upping the overall resolution on my images will not create the effect I’m looking for. I have thousands of frames like these in .PNG format, and I really don’t feel like converting each and every one of these frames into vector format.

Why does this have to be so difficult to do in Vegas 11, compared to Vegas 8?
