(I posted this yesterday in the After Effects basics form, but maybe it’s not a basic question. Hopefully someone in this forum will have an answer…)

I have the Production Premium suite and starting to get into AE4. I’m familiar with timeline-structured and layer-structured software so it’s a pretty comfortable environment. The problem I’m having, though, has to do with a project that was originally created in AE CS3, which I don’t have.

The project has a Vegas effect that follows a bezier curve that crosses the entire screen horizontally. In a render from CS3, I see that the effect starts on the left side of the screen and passes through to the right side.

When I open this project in CS4, though, it starts in the MIDDLE of the screen, goes to the right edge, then picks up at the left edge and ends back in the middle, a 180 degree shift basically.

After playing around with it, it seems like it’s connected to the rotation settings of the Vegas effect. Something must’ve changed from CS3 to CS4. If I change the rotation, it only changes it for that particular point of the timeline. What’s the procedure for selecting the entire motion from start to finish and shifting the rotation accordingly? Thanks.

If all that you need to do is change all of your Vegas effect’s Rotation property keyframes by the same amount, you can select all of the keyframes and then drag the property value in the Timeline panel. (See “Change multiple keyframe values at once”.)

Selecting the keyframes did it. I just didn’t know where the keyframes were (newb, like I said, but at least I know WHAT keyframes are). The rotation WAS off by 180 degrees compared to AE CS3, so possibly something was changed in that control from then until now.

    THANK YOU for your help.
