    Okay, so I’m finding it a little hard to explain this problem correctly, but I’m going to try anyway.

    I’ve been making videos that rely heavily on the Event/Pan Crop function in Sony Vegas Pro 8 (64bit) for years, and I couldn’t be any happier with the results. I have never, not even once, experienced anything faulty in Sony Vegas that couldn’t easily be fixed.

    However, I switched to Sony Vegas Pro 11 (still 64bit) about a week ago and problems I never thought I would have are showing up. These are mostly problems that I can overlook, problems that don’t really mean anything,
    but, however, this one can not be overlooked!

    Let’s say I download a .png picture of a car with a transparent background from Google (relevant to the kind of projects I do)
    I can crop, pan and zoom in on this image in Sony Vegas as much as I’d like with no problems what so ever. The aspect ratio on my projects are always set to 16:9 Widescreen (1280×720), so I set the aspect ratio in the Event/Pan Crop window for the car image to match that.

    Now, here’s the problem.. You see, as soon as I even think about rotating this image in any kind of way, it deforms all over the screen. Why is this happening? I’ve tried setting the “stretch to fill frame” setting to No and so on, but nothing seems to do anything. I’ve never had a problem like this before.

    Actually, this goes for everything! Rotating anything in Sony Vegas Pro 11 seems to have totally random stretching effects on the image. I’ve tried looking it up on Google and so forth, but I seem to be the only one with a problem like this.

    Also, even though this is my first post, I still have to thank you guys for all the help! This site is pretty much the only place I go to whenever I’m having problems in Vegas! 🙂

    PS: When thinking about it, this isn’t really that hard to explain..
    “Whenever I rotate something in Sony Vegas Pro 11, the picture deforms and stretches uncontrollably.”

    Hi;

    John, I only started using SVP 11 last week, have build 683 64-bit. I had not yet tried a pan/crop rotate of a still, but because I do that kind of thing a lot, I thought I would test. I grabbed a .png and dropped it into a current project. (I used FastStone to convert a .jpg into .png for the test.

    With everything at the defaults, I did a pan/crop , grabbed the corner and rotated. Looks good.

    Not sure if this helps. But, at lease it confirms that such manipulation is not impossible.

    I updated Vegas 11 from build 511 to 683. That somehow fixed all of my problems.

    Thank you for replying, hope It wasn’t too much of a hazzle. 🙂

    Glad you fixed it!

    Build 511 was pretty buggy, so far 683 has not crashed on me … but the first time I do serious production work with SVP 11, it probably will!

    Save your work early and often.
