I am using vegas 11 on an amd athlon II x3 425 with 7 gigs of 1066 ram and an nvidia 9200 onboard card using 128 mb of the ram. I can get it up to 512mb and use cuda although that quadruples the render times. I only have the one hard drive on the pc so I render off the C drive to the c drive. I have tried transferring to an external usb drive and rendering it there.

My rendered video runs well then every so often will pause for half a second, then continue fine. I have tried multiple render formats. The video is 1080i m2t and I normally render down to 480i mPeg2. I have tried rendering to 480 avi, 1080 30i m2v, 1080 30i avc, and all have problems.

I have rendered it out on a two other pc’s. One was amd athlon x2 4400, this one had places that slowed down. One was an I7 950 with an nvidia 560 and that one was misplacing frames through out the video and shuttering and nearly catching on fire.

Any ideas or need for further info to get more ideas?

    Try these two things:

    1) reduce the amount of “dynamic ram preview” to 256MB or less in the options. See https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/941540 for more info.

    2) try disabling GPU rendering and see what happens.

    Let us know.

Yes as Dave said, disable GPU rendering and most importantly,
before you start rendering (after an editing session) restart
    Vegas, then you render.

I burned a dvd with architect 5.2 and just watched a couple minutes with no glitches. I am wondering if it was an issue between the latest patch for vegas 11 and the codecs in WMP and VLC.
