We have a ton of H264 Canon 5D footage and converted ProRes 422 1080 footage on Mac FCP. Client uses Vegas. What is the best codec for editing on Vegas? I have episode so I can convert clips but if they can take the source H264 that would be easiest.

    Thoughts?

Vegas Pro should be able to edit ProRes422 files without any problems. It can’t render to that format but it can read it just fine.

Make sure that they have the latest Quicktime version (and the latest Vegas Pro version as well as some later versions of Quicktime don’t work with earlier versions of Vegas).

Worry not, they can be imported into Vegas nicely.
