June 4, 2009 at 2:52 amSorry, but I have to ask: Why are you not using footage of a candle flame—either shot yourself or gotten from a stock footage library?
There’s a thread from a few days ago that is about flames:

So i thought maybe there´s a plugin that can create fire in AE or in Nuke. -

June 4, 2009 at 1:55 pmIt depends on how realistic you want it.
You can do it in AE using a particle effect such as Particular or a 3rd party program such as Wondertouch’s ParticleIllusion, Maya, Cinema 4d, etc.
Or I suppose you could take a photo of a candle flame and with some clever distortion effects and scaling make it look animated. But it would be much easier to composite actual footage of a candle’s flame into your scene in AE.
