I was wondering if anyone else had problems or knows of how to fix this. I am unable to import HD footage from an Canon HV20 camera. I had heard that it is a problem with the capability with the HV20 with Sony Vegas.
I just upgraded to Pro 11 thinking they may have fixed it, but I am still having issues.
    Any thoughts or insights?

I no longer use that cam, but never had an issue with importing into Vegas (version 8 at the time). One thing that I often did wrong was to think there was a connectivity problem when in fact it was the wrong setting of SD vs. HDV. Be sure the camera is set the same as the capture software, or it will seem like there is no camera connection.

I used an HV30 for a while and occasionally had connectivity problems, but for the most part it was straightforward. As has been said, make sure you set Vegas to look for HD or SD footage first, and that your firewire card is properly connected to your motherboard.

Thanks. Apparently I have been doing something wrong! I will try again.
