Hello guys, I’m new to the site, but must say thank you! Many times my research has brought me here, and its almost always useful! Now to my problem.

I am running Sony Vegas Pro 11. I am using data recorded off my Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle. It is recorded at 1080i, 59.94 fps.

After editing the clips for a montage, I typically fail to render these clips. Either my kernel will crash, only affecting Vegas, or the preview screen turns black, and the timer continues to tick, with no progress on the bar.

    My laptops specs are:
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Geforce GT 540M
    Intel i7-2630 QM CPU @ 2.00GHZ with 8GB Ram
I have plenty of free HD space and my laptop is very well ventilated, rarely even heating up.

I feel as though I am not rendering these at the optimal settings, or into the optimal format.
Any advice for what I should do?

Edit: Also, What rendering threads and dynamic ram should I run at? Ive seen to increase and decrease both. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site…Don’t feel bad, Vegas crashes no matter what settings you use!

I dont mind a couple crashes, however It took my roughy45 attempts to render a 2 minute clip, I finally got it and it was very choppy. I dont know what Im doing wrong.
