Hi, I am trying to obtain some information about changes in plugin development from Vegas 10 to Vegas 11. As we know, Vegas 11 brought GPU acceleration via OpenCL. Both versions use OFX as a plugin engine, but OFX does not support OpenCL interface. So either:

    – There is no OpenCL context sharing and every plugin uploads frames to the GPU and after processing downloads them to the main memory. This means huge waste of bandwidth and rather slow processing.
    – There are some additions to the OFX specification made by Sony and not yet published (SDK is for Vegas 10) that allows OpenCL context sharing.

Does anyone know anything about new OpenCL plugin development?

    Regards,
    Arek Waliszewski

Frederic may be able to point you in the right direction. He is a developer who has worked with OFX and may be able to point you in the right direction.

Hopefully he will notice his name in the subject line.
