I’m using Vegas 9 on the PC side of a dual platform (Windows 7) on my MacBook Pro (2.80 GHz, 8 GB Ram, 32-bit Operating system). The AVCHD video imported from my Panasonic HDC Tm700 is really jumpy and difficult to edit. Would upgrading to Vegas Pro 11 solve this problem?

Vegas 10 and 11 handles AVCHD much better yes, but im not sure
if that’s what’s causing your jumpiness.

For now just let the sharpness be degraded instead of the spatial fidelity. In the video preview window select “Preview (Auto)” or even try “Draft (quarter)” and the choppiness will likely clear up enough for you to make better edits. Don’t forget to set it back to “Best (Full)” when you are done editing, right before you save & render.

Thank you for replying. I have tried changing those settings. But I’m wondering if it IS more than the fact I’m using Vegas 9. I’m wondering if my problem is that I’ve got 32 instead of 64 gigs on a dual platform and whether an upgrade there might solve my issues?

Sorry…I meant 32-BIT operating system, not gigs.
