Burn in timecode using Vegas scripts
Today I digitized 2 hrs or original video for editing.
When I added a timecode window to burn a client DVD, the TC window was in the very center of the screen. I would prefer it to be in the lower right hand side.
How do I move the TC window down and to the right?

See if this helps… Use the drop down arrows to position and size time-code…

That would be the way to move the timecode window if I had used Sony timecode effect from the effects window. I used the script “add timecode to all media” from the tools/scripts/add timecode to all media.
While the Sony timecode effect is in the correct position and is movable, it only shows “timeline timecode” not smpte tape timecode, so it wouldn’t work for my purpose.

That script does indeed show tape timecode.
I use it all the time on my footage which uses SMPTE timecode so I know it works.
If it doesn’t, then either your clock needs to be reset or your internal camera battery needs replacing. -

And that’s why I used the script “add timecode to all media”, and NOT the Sony timecode.
So I get the smpte timecode that I want, it’s just in the middle of the screen.

Then what is the SMPTE t/c referring to as an option in the drop down menu? Isn’t that what you’re after?

In spite of the fact it says smpte timecode, it is just referring to the timeline position. Starts at 00:00:00:00. no relation to the tape timecode.

Just to clarify. I am using script “add TC to all Media”, and it is adding real tape timecode to all my media. But, the window is in the center of the raster. I need to move it.
Also, while it is correctly displaying the hrs, mins, and secs of the orig tape timecode… the frames is replaced by decimals showing to the nearest 1/thousandths. .393

One last comment and I’ll let it go. I tried a different clip from another camera shot HDV, previous footage was DVCam.. same results..
This problem only occurs with my Vegas 11 (build 521)
Solution was to use my old copy of Vegas 10e.
