I’m sorry if this has been answered before, I couldn’t locate it in the forums.

In VMS Platinum 11.0, I’ve added several quick blips of text in the text track, meticulously placed them over one segment of a video I’m working on, and then copied/pasted that a few times as I want to repeat that quick segment a few times throughout the video. Now comes the time to move them to their places in the video (scattered, not all in one place), but I’m having trouble selecting the text and video to move it, as a unit to where I want it. I can’t “group”, “locking” doesn’t work either. I can’t figure out how to move the group as a group.

Can someone help me here, I’m sure it’s something simple.
    Thanks!!!
    Bill

    Ok, thanks a lot Steve.
I read, thought it might work, although from what I’m reading I understand it to just move everything over. Which would condense the dead space, but not allow me to pick up and move and insert in various locations. I think I’m doing a poor job of explaining, or a poor job of understanding auto-ripple LOL.

But I accidentally discovered something, the ‘selection edit tool’! This allowed me to group the pieces and then move as a group :^)

So, thanks, I do want to learn more about the ripple, and thanks for pointing me toward that toolbar, where I discovered the selection tool.

There is so much to learn.
