  capture HDV with firewire

  can i capture HDV with a firewire connection?

  Yes you can. Make sure you set the Vegas capture app accordingly.

  

  Doing it this way brings up this widow.

  i get ‘device not available’ with 1394/MPEG2-TS selected

  Make sure your camera’s menu options are set correctly.
  I’ve done this with a few different HDV models and every one is different.

  yep, sorry folks it was a (hired) Z1 cam setting, all good now 🙂
