    Hi!

I just upgraded from V10 to V11 and something regarding rendering time is not as it should be.
My video board is not cuda enable but I am MOT working with AVCHD files.
I am working with simple mgg files capturaded from a dvd disc.
And the render of a 7 minute project whitout any efx. only cuts, only one layer of video and one of audio took TWO HOURS!!!!

Please, tell me what is going on.
    I have a amd phenon 4 cores 8gig ram

    Thaks and regards!

How much memory do you have set under “options | video | dynamic ram preview”?

If it’s more than 128mb, try setting it to 128mb or less, and see what that does for you.

On my system, anything over 256mb slows down rendering tremendously.

    LEt us know what happens!

Thanks a lot for the reply, Dave.
That was the problem. It came to my mind right after
I read an old post here at cows.
I reduced the ram memory to 200 and everything comes to normal again.
The only thing that still bothers me is the fact that when I select preview at external VGA/LCD mononitor, the picture doesnt run smooth as it shoul be and as it does in vegas 10. I guess it is beacause i dont have a video board that enables gpu acceleration. I will buy one and check it out. What do you think??
    TKS!
    Best regards,

    Hi Jorge,

Glad that resolved it! It looks like it’s a bug in Vegas 11 that nobody’s reported yet.

As for the external monitor — not sure what to say about that. It’s your call. What video card do you have? Is it relatively new?

    HiDave!

My board is relatively old… Its an ATI and I just upgrade the software but nothing happened regarding Vegas.
As Vegas changed its way of dealing with memory, preview and render stuff, I gues they are still having some difficulties with this new way of – thinking -.
I will buy a new video board anyway because soon I will work with avchd files.
    Tks and regards.
