  Imported still images aren’t small enough.

  Ok, here’s the issue:
  I’m trying to put multiple still images into a specific area of my video project’s timeline to overlay/cover up certain parts of the shown video picture.
  Now, as I understand it, there are two ways of doing this:
  1. Adding all the still image(s) to one new video track and using the specific pan&crop tool of each imported image to move it to its designated area of the video and crop it to the size/dimension needed.
  2. Adding a new video track for each image (approx. 9) and using the track motion feature to move each video track with one of the still images to its designated area and crop it to the size/dimension needed.
  I’d like to use the first method, because adding 9 new video tracks to the project would create an insane amount of rendering workload on vegas iirc.
  However, using the first method I can not decrease the dimensions of the still image as far as I need to, so the image won’t cover up more of the video picture than it ought to.
  I tried reducing the resolution in photoshop, which achieved nothing aside from a more pixelated still image.
  So, is there any way to lift the restrictions on the cropping dimensions for still images, or do I have to use the second method?

  Unless someone has a better idea, I think you have to use method #2.
  To reduce the rendering workload, as soon as you get everything lined up properly, render that section only to a new track in the desired format and delete everything used to create it.

  Might save some time if you pre-processed the stills in Photoshop to get them closer to what you need in size, perhaps pre-crop them? Sorry if I’m not fully understanding what your goal is – perhaps post a screen grab?

  The flag of sweden at the top was recropped with method #2 and I was able to decrease height and width enough to fit the still image right into the frame of the window displaying the Snake Man character.
  The USA flag was cropped with method #1 and as you can see I can’t decrease the width any further (height is small enough) and it won’t fit into the frame perfectly.
