Vegas suddenly changed video of two projects
I have no idea what happened. I was trying to render the commercial I just posted about in mpg. I had this commercial cut in two ways, so I had it saved in two projects. They’re mostly similar, just with some information changed at the end that lists the business’ contact information.
In both projects, a long shot that I didn’t use in the final video was put in one of the video tracks that extends over almost the entire video in both projects, even though I didn’t even open the first version. And the phone number that I had listed was removed.
This has never happened before. I can fix it, but this is kind of disturbing. How could this possibly happen?

The same thing happens to me more often than I like (I never like).
I’ll open a saved project and there’s just some totally bogus clip being used where something else should be. Sometimes it’s fixed by just re-inserting it, sometimes I have to make a new clip, call it something else and re-insert that.
I still get audio tracks sometimes that just cut out midstream and start playing some other track from god knows where.
If you find something out about this I’d love to know about it.

I’ll probably report it to Sony at some point. I just can’t believe what I saw and how Vegas managed to do this. Of all the bugs I’ve had with Vegas, I’ve never seen this. Fortunately it only removed a single text event and nothing else. It added this shot I didn’t use, but it put it on a video track that was above almost everything else in the video, so all I had to do was remove that.

DO report it to SCS. It’s a known bug, but until they can reproduce it, they can’t fix it. The more bug reports they receive on this, the more likely they will assign more resources to it.
Someone on the Sony forums tried to tabulate the problem to discover any commonality between occurrences, but he found that there is NO common factor. None.
