Hey everyone. I’ve been coming to these boards for about six months, but I just now finally decided to join in. So here goes my first question.

I’ve been playing around with the new way to animate text starting with AE 6.0, and there’s a specific animation that I want to achieve that I just can’t seem to get. If you watch this video (https://www.creativecow.net/articles/shisko_alan/textacy/renders/radical.mov) then it’ll show what I’m trying to do. In the video the word “Design” kind of pops in left to right by having the letters start from nothing to getting big to back down to medium size. Does anyone know how to do that using the text animation things they’ve added to 6.0 and above? I figure that you have to add a second range selector to get it to work, but I can’t really figure out how. I know that under the advanced menu you can change the different modes from add, subtract, intersect, etc., but I can’t grasp how using the different modes effects other range selectors you may have added.

Sorry for the long first post…I’ll keep ’em shorter from here on out. Thanks everyone.

I feel it’s hard to explain it in words,so I make an example for you in AE6.5.(I have not AE6.0)
I make the text animation like the one in your clip and tried to upload it into some website, but I failed. So could you please send an E-mail to me so that I can send it to you ?

Go to https://www.mograto.com and look for Alan Shisko’s e-mail address, or at least send an e-mail to info@mograto.com … Alan should be able to answer your question himself.

Sorry but I don’t have 6.5, only 6.0, so I wouldn’t be able to open your project. Thanks for offer though.
