    Hi, Another Newbie in need of help I’m afraid !

    I have been playing with Vegas Studio 10 for a few months with simple compilations of stills and 720P video and created DVDs direct from Vegas withough any problems. I am now attempting to get a better quality output and have purchased an external Storage Options Blu Ray burner, hoping to see an improvement in both stills and video.

    I have started with a prior project that worked OK in getting a DVD output and have adjusted my Vegas rendering settings to 1920×1080 template and adjusted to progressive. Rendering appeared to work OK, but the burn failed as soon as it attempted to ‘write lead in.’ I have since tried to render only and then import into DVDA 5.0 with similar failures in the burning process. As a tester I burned a very short 720P clip to Blu Ray direct from Vegas with similar settings which appeared to work, so not sure what I should be looking for ? Assuming it should be possible to combine stills and 720P in BR format ?

    Any help or suggestions would be greatkly appreciated !

    Hi;

    I had that exact problem with DVDA 5.2 build 132, it was a bug that was fixed in DVDA 5.2 build 133. Not sure if this applies to your situation.

    Regarding mixing stills and vid on a blu-ray project, that is perfectly OK and I do it all the time in Vegas Pro, although I have not tried 720p. Why use 720p for Blu-ray? Just pick one of the 1080 formats.

    Have not used Movie Studio for a few years (it was the gateway drug that hooked me on Pro 😉 ) . You might try the trial of Vegas pro … but be prepared for addiction.
