  “Last session did not save properly. Would you like to open restored file?

  I am also finding that when I open Vegas, the “recent” projects often do not include actual recent files that were opened. I’m guessing this relates to same problem. But maybe that additional symptom is helpful.

  The way this forums lays out threads and replies is a trip…

  I am on Sony Vegas HD 10 (win 7) and despite all variations of regular “save” functions, I am getting “Your last session did not close properly. restore using autosave files?”

  This is pretty much daily.

  I am of course doing “save” and “save as” routinely… and this still happens. Interestingly, I am also noticing that in the list of recently opened sessions is not including actual chronology of last projects.

  So i am obviously not understanding something important.

  I am assuming if I am “saving,” I am saving… and that Vegas will not be confused.

  I’ve done experiments with “copy media with project,” and that did not fix problem.

  I have PLENTY of disk space

  This happens when Vegas sees an autosaved file in the temp folder that hasn’t been cleaned up on exit. I assumes the program ended abnormally and asks if you’d like to restore it. Just delete everything in your Vegas temp folder when Vegas isn’t running and it should go away.

  Great tip, John.

  I am paranoid, so I am constantly hitting ctrl-s ,and also saving as different versions. project-v1.veg, project-v2.veg, etc. Just tonight in the space of 4 hours I have 8 versions – I prefer this because sometimes I have to go back to something I did earlier.

  Vegas 10e still crashes enough to make me skittish …
