Posted by Patti Arrigo on November 22, 2011 at 4:19 pmHI I would like to use PIP from Vasst freeware. Will
this work in Vegas 10. I downloaded it but it doesn’t

Which version of 10.0.. Pro or Movie Studio? VASST Freeware only works in the Pro version of Vegas and yes, it’s compatible with Vegas 6 thru Vegas Pro 11.0.

Where are you looking for it? It should be under Tools | Scripting | VASST Freeware

November 23, 2011 at 1:21 pmTry re-installing PIP Selection. If you want to see if it’s being installed properly, look under:
%AppData%\Sony\Vegas Pro\Script Menu\VASST Freeware
You should see PIPSelection. All of our freeware places a link in this folder so that all version of Vegas Pro will pick it up in their script menu.

November 23, 2011 at 6:35 pmI found it……says that I have to select a video clip
which I did. Why doesn’t it recognize the selection that I made…. I am using a multi cam and would like
to make a picture in picture now and then. I am doing
something wrong. Also how would I do a side by side.
I have a dialog going on between the stage and a man in
the audience. -

It works at the event level. So you must have an event selected and then make a timeline selection that is within that event and it will keyframe Pan/Crop to make the event smaller.
[Patti Arrigo] “Also how would I do a side by side. I have a dialog going on between the stage and a man in
the audience.”I would use Track Motion for that. Just use Track Motion on each of the tracks to move them side-by-side.

November 26, 2011 at 2:17 amI did a PIP and then rendered to a new track. (master track)
My PIP is gone all of them. I thought this would save rendering
time and do my mp4….mepg2 etc DVD. I don’t know what went
wrong. (I have sent out 2 videos this way and its all wrong.) -

November 26, 2011 at 3:22 pmIt’s hard to say what could have gone wrong but I’m not sure why you are rendering to a new track. This just makes more work to keep track of. Just leave the PIP as it is and render the project and see if it works.
