  Using the metronome

  The metronome works well when using Windows Sound Mapper. However,I am trying to route the metronome to a different output than the main mix. when I use an M-Audio FW-410 (8 outputs) for that the metronome sound disappears, whatever M-Audio output I select in the preview
  Reverting to the Sound Mapper does not bring back the metronome sound. I have to restart Vegas (VP10, VP11) with Sound Mapper.

  Also the use of Windows Classic Driver leads to nothing but crashes.

  How is the metronome routed internally and can I achieve what I am aiming at?

  The metronome is not routable. It should sound just fine through your M-Audio FW-410 (it does with mine). The metronome does not get send to the recorded audio so I’m not sure what you are trying to achieve by routing it somewhere else. I don’t believe what you want to do is possible using the built-in metronome. Try using a click track instead.
