  • Changing escape key function for multicam editing in Vegas 11

I’m editing a multicam project in Vegas (Finally!), and when I press Escape to go from full screen with the preview back to seeing all of Vegas, the position on the track goes back to where the cursor began. I looked for any escape commands in the controls and couldn’t find any. Is there a way to stop it from bringing my position on the timeline back to where the cursor began? I just want to leave full screen viewing while letting Vegas continue to play the footage.

Are you using a dual monitor setup? This is probably the most effective solution I can think of in the long run. You can preview the multi-cam on a dedicated secondary screen whilst your editing screen/tracks remain on the primary screen.

I edit on a 24″ screen and preview on a 32″ screen which is also hooked up to a DVD player to allow me to check rendered output.

Needs a dual head video card, though.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6
