  NewBlue Motion Effects – adjust in 3 dimensions

  I’m evaluating NewBlue Motion Effects on Sony Vegas Pro. How do I adjust the effect in 3 dimensions? E.g., I want to add a ripple to a lake but it doesn’t look right because the source footage isn’t shot straight down. I can adjust the whole track in 3 dimensions with Track Motion / 3D Source Alpha. But I don’t want to move the source video in 3d, just the effect. Is this possible? Am I just being dim today? Thanks.

  No, that’s not possible. There really isn’t any way to do this because the effect is applied to the video plane even if you move it in 3D space. There is no way to move the effect without moving the video.
