Problem Rendering in Sony Vegas
I have a 16 minute video that I want to render. It has no fx, no transitions, nothing fancy except a video of me talking, which was recorded using a low quality webcam. Every time I try to render the video it comes out at 2 or 3GB+. I know there’s something wrong with my settings, but I can’t figure out what. How do I get the video down to the 3-400MB range?

Its because you are rendering it out probably uncompressed.
Firstly, what are gonna do with the video when done?
MPEG-2…WMV…Quicktime…MPEG-4 are all formats you can render
out to that gives smaller file sizes with great quality, but

Thank you for your response. If I would have read this post earlier I would have realized that I had to change the format to WMV, which is why the render file was so big. But I remembered to change the format and have since solved my problem. In case you’re curious, the video was to be uploaded to youtube. Again, thanks for your response.

Still, to upload to You Tube with great quality is to use the
MPEG-4 format (Sony AVC-Internet).Steve Rhoden

Steve, I can’t find MPEG-4 format Sony AVC-Internet 1280X720 in Vegas 11. All I have is MainConcept mp4 when I match properties. Never had that problem in VP10.
