Have just returned from holiday with quite a bit of full high definition images 1920×1080 after trying out a new camera, rather than the usual 1440×1080 and am getting very jerky results on Sony Vegas Pro 8, no difference by rendering, eventhough the properties are set to HD 1080-50i (1920×1080). It seems that the display frame rate is decreasing over a number of seconds as indicated next to the display size. Sometimes it starts around 25fps then slows down sometimes to about 6 frames a second. They are AVC files, m2ts format, 1920x1080x12 and 25fps, although the problem would seem to be on the display side. Any help on getting smooth images. Thanks.

The problem may be that you are using a new camera with very old software. Vegas Pro 8.0 was still the early days of AVC support and AVC comes in many variations. I would download the trial of Vegas Pro 11 and if the file plays smoothly, you have your solution (Vegas Pro 8.0 may be too old).
