October 13, 2011 at 5:17 amCannot help, but, I can tell you Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 handles it very efficiently as well as AVCHD. for a 32 bit system it is nearly as good as the Pro software at 8 to 11 times the price.

October 13, 2011 at 10:23 amYea, there is no need to install an h.264 codec. Perhaps you should reinstall Vegas to get it’s own codec working again. Also if you have any “codec-paks” installed, you should uninstall them.

October 14, 2011 at 2:39 pmSo, what options during rendering should I choose? MOV -> video format -> configure? If I choose this, I get only H261 and H263. Maybe I just dont know how to do it?

October 15, 2011 at 12:46 amVegas doesn’t support h.264 QuickTime (MOV). You need to use Sony AVC or MainConcept AVC for h.264 file.

August 3, 2012 at 7:54 amno Bob it does not. Not for me anyway. Render out into any QT format results in terrible sound.
The Sony MP4 files leave a lot to be desired as well. I am looking for some way to get some decent codecs besides the Microsoft ones.
Vegas MS PE 11 so far sucks compared to the Premiere Pro and FinalCut I am priced out of now.
Crude interface. Poor math that drops out effects. Even when effects are locked in. Effects settings that drift constantly and a mystery interface. As in -” it’s a mystery how they expect you to find anything.”
