Add as take, but keep timeline edits
I want to replace a wav file in my timeline with another wav file. They are identical length files (different mixes.)Unfortunately I’ve already edited the original wav file into many clips. If I do a “add as take” to each clip with the new file, it replaces clip, but starts at beginning of file, not the edit point. Is what I want to do possible?

Ah…just remembered I can rename the old file and specify the new file when Vegas looks for the offline media. Something I do with stills all the time.
If there is a more elegant way to do this anyone let me know…it would be nice to be able to toggle between the two mixes, as in have 2 separate takes with the edits intact…but not crucial for this project.

Try right-clicking the file in the Project Media view and selecting Replace. This will let you specify a file to use instead of the original, and will keep any timeline editing.

Ah good. That is more elegant, because renaming a file could have consequences elsewhere! Thanks
