Audio problem
Hi, sorry if this has been discussed all ready but I have found no answers. I posted this here origionaly but it was moved to FCP sction but this seem to be an AE problem to me.
I have exported a clip from FCP using current settings. Footage is HDV 1080i50. Once rendered the clip plays fine in QT and also in the project window of AE, but once i put it into a comp, the audio seems to dissapear by this i mean the wave form is just a flat line, this is driving me crazy! As I exported another clip from the same timeline and it works.. Im stumed. When I look at the properties of both clips they are identicle, but one plays and one does not.
Info from QT:
Video track HDV 1080i50
Sound track 1 : Integer (Little Indian)
Sound track 2 : Integer (Little Indian)So why does one not play????? Ive re rendered it and still nothing….. STUMPED.

I have rendered using current settings which is HDV1080i50. Some clips work fine, and the others are loosing the audio on the timeline. What codec do you suggest I use to check if the codec or something else is wrong? I tried Apple Pro Res and it still did the same:
Plays in QT.
PLays in the Project window and displays waveform in the thumbnail.
On timeline displays a flat line ie: no waves. at 0.00dBWhat codec should deffinately work?

One work around I have found.
1. I rendered from FCP with my current settings in my case HDV1080i50 (adjust to whatever setting you are using)
– Did not have audio on time line.
2. Open clip in QT and then rendered using HDV1080i50. (adjust to whatever setting you are using)
– Audio works fine in AE
No idea what is causing this, hope this workaround helps some people before the real solution is found.
